P9140037 Side project complete!
P9140038 P9230064 Alarm panel inside dance studio. As this wall will have mirrors on it, panel will be turned around to face the other way and hidden behind an access panel accessible from the stairwell. P9230066 Not the aftermath of a shootout, but the results of using a Ramset to drive concrete nails. IMG_1360 Main area with wall, soffit, and stage framing complete. Electrical rough-in done, and can-lights installed.
IMG_1361 Back wall framing. Fireplace opening roughed in. IMG_1431 Shot along back wall and soffit. Main A/C ducting was too low to use 2x4's on the bottom of the soffit, so 1/2 IMG_1432 IMG_1441 Staggered wall studs along back wall for sound isolation. this wall will be stuffed with mineral wool as well. IMG_1442 Better shot. IMG_1362 View from front of main media area towards back of game/bar area. IMG_1363 Soffit above sreen wall. Center speaker will be hidden inside this section and covered with acoustically transparent fabric. (sorry for blurry shot) IMG_1364 View of screen wall. Stage framed to have 3 center drawer sections, and 2 subwoofer enclosures. Window openings framed over. IMG_1430 Shot of sub area in stage (there are two). Dedicated 20A circuit just for subs. All stage framing glued as well as nailed. IMG_1366 Soffit framing in center of room enclosing main I-Beam. Projector will hang here. IMG_1367 Close up of backing for projector mount. I can do pullups on it, so it should hold the 40 pound projector ;-). Mud ring for projector cables and an electrical box for projector outlet. Note orange pull-string for cables. IMG_1368 Another shot of the back wall. You can see vent pipe for fire place, fireplace wall switch box, and gas line. IMG_1369 3 IMG_1370 2x8 IMG_1371 Close up of ceiling framing. As you can almost make out here, the ceiling joists are 1/4 IMG_1372 Another shot of isolation. The new ceiling joists sit on the I-Beams, ad are not tied to the house framing in any way. IMG_1373 View of entrance to lab area. 5 foot wide pocket door opening should help make it feel like one open space when they are open. IMG_1374 Additional conduit and electrical (approx. 3 feet further back in the ceiling) for future projector mount flexability (you can see this pipe connected in the previous conduit picture) IMG_1375 Cable conduit at equipment rack end. IMG_1376 View of light tray along soffit. All soffits will have light trays with crown molding. IMG_1377 Shot of gas line feed for fireplace. Unbeknownst to me, non-certified folks cannot buy flexible gas line, forcing me to to run rigid black pipe AFTER soffit framing was complete. What a nightmare. IMG_1378 Signal and electrical feeds to main equipment cabinet. 4 runs of RG6 for satellite/video, 4 runs of Cat5e for network, speaker wire for 7.1 setup, and additional Cat5e for IR repeater. Electrical is on a dedicated circuit. All labeled, I might add ;-) IMG_1379 Another 3-inch conduit inside back of stage to tie left- and right-side equipment racks together. Voids in stage will be back-filled with sand for rattle isolation. IMG_1380 Two 4-gang wall boxes for lighting dimmers. These are hidden inside mechanical closet and will be operated by master wall controls at the entrances to basement as well as an IR repeater for remote control operation.
